Acceptable use

dP Relay exists for messages people expect to receive. These rules keep the network trustworthy for everyone, including your own users.

You may use dP Relay to send

• One-time passcodes and verification messages
• Transactional alerts your users asked for, such as receipts and delivery updates
• Bulk messages to people who opted in and can opt out

You may not use dP Relay to

• Send spam or unsolicited marketing
• Phish, impersonate a person or organisation, or send deceptive messages
• Send unlawful, threatening or harassing content
• Get around rate limits, resend cooldowns or validation
• Resell access without our written agreement

Fair use (every plan, both services)

• "Unlimited" means we don't cap the number of messages we charge for. It doesn't mean unlimited use for any purpose, and the same rules apply on every plan.
• Use dP Relay for normal business messaging. We may limit, pause or ask you to change plan if your traffic is far above what is normal for your account in a way that puts the service, other customers or phone numbers at risk, or if your messages cause spam complaints or carrier blocks.
• Per-number rate limits and resend cooldowns apply on every plan.
• Don't trigger codes to numbers you don't control, and don't generate traffic to inflate volume (often called SMS pumping or SMS bombing).
• For bulk messages, get each recipient's consent and keep a record of it. Show it to us if we ask.
• Don't break the terms of a carrier or telecom provider, and don't send malware or links to it.
• Phone limits follow your plan: 1, up to 5, or up to 20 phones.

Your own phone

When you send through your own device, you are also bound by your carrier's terms and by the laws of the countries you send to.

Enforcement

We may pause sending or suspend an app that breaks these rules, without prior notice for serious violations, and we will tell you why where we can.
